ithala

With the event of the internet the world has become a smaller place. "Do you know where Ithala is? and do you travel" the e-mail read. Yes I do travel and will find out where Ithala is when do we shoot" I replied. This was a few months ago.

Driving through the rain it was getting late, and we had already missed the closing time for entrance into the park. A quick phone call from Marelize verified that we had about another hours drive ahead. Eventually after many a missed turn we made it to the Parks gate where a Ranger was waiting for us. What a relief. After a warm welcome by Marelize and Mathew who travelled from New Zealand to get married at Ithala Game Reserve it was supper and time to get to know the family who travelled from all parts of the globe to share their special day with them.

Early morning brought sporadic thunder showers and their was no signs of letting up. Taryn and myself went out to scout some locations and got permission from the officials to shoot at the spots we had identified, as long as we were accompanied by a Game Ranger. After the service the weather turned and the clouds opened up and the sun started shining through. We were fortunate that we had literally 20 minutes in which to shoot, when it came down again, thank goodness. Images were in the bag, I was happy and so were Mathew and Marelize.

Enjoy.
